Infrastructure Compliance

Various industry and infrastructure specifications require constant updates and management of Point of Sale results and the monitoring of production data to ensure compliance.

There are two main compliance schemes in which Cement Australia participate.

The CemAssure scheme is a conformity assurance system for the Australian cementitious materials industry and is designed to deliver an accredited product conformity assessment process for cement and cementitious materials used in the Australian construction industry.  CemAssure offers compliance with AS/NZS ISO/IEC 17020: 2013 – Conformity Assessment – requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection. Accreditation is overseen by JAZ ANZ and audited by SGS Australia.

ATIC Registration

The Australian Technical Infrastructure Committee (ATIC) is a technical group under the umbrella of the Australian Procurement Construction Council (APCC), with endorsement from Austroads. ATIC coordinates an agenda of technical issues relevant to infrastructure procurement, including standard technical specifications and a cementitious materials registration scheme for concrete. These are prepared for use by government agencies across Australia; but are also available free-of-charge to the public. The relevant technical standard is SP43, “Cementitious Materials for Concrete”. State infrastructure utilities only recognises cementitious materials that are pre-registered with ATIC.
