At Cement Australia, we are committed to the prevention of pollution and controlling the impacts of our activities on the environment. To enable achievement of these commitments we have implemented an environmental management system externally certified to AS/NZS ISO 14001.
Through our alternative fuels and raw materials management strategies, we aim to replace first-use materials wherever practical and wherever waste management and/or emissions performance also benefits.
That is why eco-efficient production – yielding more cement from fewer resources and producing less waste and emissions per tonne – is core to our business. Resource substitution includes the use of industrial by products such as fly ash and slag (known as supplementary cementitious materials).
